About the Lowell BwB Global Action Club...

The 2003-2004 school year marks the first year of the BwB Global Action Club in Lowell High School. Within three months, the Building with Books organization was presented in the Lowell High School newspaper, The Lowell, under the title, "Club helps build schools to improve universal literacy rates." Understanding the objective of the organization as well as the club, reporter and Lowell junior Jennifer Lee wrote that the club "stands out like a shining beacon of hope to the world's illiterate."

BwB Global Action Club is taking off in its third year. We have a current membership of more than sixty students. Above all, the members are very excited and motivated in participating in community service events. Applications for the Trek for Knowledge are out. Another article from The Lowell  highlights BwB Global Action Club for its service in Nicaragua in July 2004.
